They pay short terms capitals gains tax which is higher than long term capital gain and pay a lot higher management fees. Ex. You have a $1,000,000 to invest and you make 10% return they’ll take (always) at least 1-2% management fee plus on that 10% ($100,000) you made they’ll take 20% of that 80/20 split.
